Cacao husks .

£19.00

Natural dye face mask .

Pale terracotta browns.

Theobroma cacao . Its botanical classification translates as ‘food of the gods’. The Maya believed that cacao was discovered by the gods in a mountain and held an annual festival to honour their cacao god, Ek Chuah. Pre-Colombian Mesoamerican civilisations used the cacao bean as a currency system. It takes around 400 beans to make 450g of chocolate.

It makes the most delectable dye vat, filling the air with a rich cocoa fragrance.

These Cacao Husks are kindly donated by local chocolatier Lucocoa Chocolate.
