Traceable design .

My masks are designed as a triple layer hybrid mask comprising of a single layer of organic Hemp canvas, which filters larger droplets, and an opposing double layer of organic Silk, which has electrostatic properties that traps smaller particles.

The fine aluminium nose strip ensures a tight seal - this is removable and recyclable at the end of the masks life.

The ear straps are fair trade eco-elastic, an innovative plastic-free, biodegradable and recyclable elastic made in Austria from organic cotton and sustainable natural rubber.

Contrasting teal thread is naturally dyed organic cotton, spun in Holland and supplied on wooden spools. The internal thread is made of 100% cellulose wood pulp, which has been developed especially for use with biodegradable natural organic fabrics.

The optional neck strap is a soft organic hemp cord.

Side one .

100% Organic European Hemp. Sourced from a co-operative of small farmers in Europe.

Why Hemp?

Hemp was one of the first plants to be cultivated by humans. It is the most environmentally sustainable natural fabric to produce, needing no pesticides or herbicides, it enriches the soil it grows in and absorbs more carbon than it produces.

Hemp is stronger and more durable than cotton, softening with age. It grows on less land and uses 1/5th of the water required for cotton.

Highly resistant to mould and microbes, it is antibacterial and anti-allergen. Moisture wicking. Thermo-dynamic. UV resistant. 100% biodegradable.

Side two .

100% Organic Peace Silk. From silkworms on an Organic mulberry orchard in Hertfordshire.

Why Silk?

Silk production is at least 8500 years old. It is inherently sustainable as the harvesting & production has no negative environmental impact and mulberry trees grow without pesticides or fertilisers. Silk is the strongest natural textile in the world.

Sourced from a UK silk producer,  who use no hormones, or detergents or bleach on the fabric they produce. Choosing locally grown silk dramatically reduces emissions - most silk in the UK is imported from China.

It is soft, lightweight, highly breathable & moisture wicking. 100% biodegradable.
