Curcuma longa . Used in Asia for thousands of years as a medicinal, the powder is ground from the rhizome or root of the plant. Its first use was as a dye, and still colours the robes of Buddhist monks.
The dye vat is prepared from remnants of homemade turmeric tea.
Notes . Reverse fold on the left side of each face. Comes in a handy carry bag to keep the mask clean and easy to pocket. The optional neck strap can be knotted onto each ear strap and worn around the back of the head to allow the mask to be fully removed but remain at hand.
Care . Washable at 30 degrees on a gentle cycle or by hand. Do not tumble dry.
